Alabama went into 1994-1995 ranked in the Top 25 behind "Super Soph" Antonio McDyess. A 20-8 regular season followed, and wins over Tennessee and Georgia put the Crimson Tide in the SEC Tournament Championship game. Losing to #5 Arkansas there didn't hurt the resume much, since Bama still landed the #5 seed in the East Region.
An overtime thriller against #12 seed Penn had Alabama one win from the Sweet 16. Oklahoma State, the #4 seed, ended the run there. It was a season worth keeping on the leg anyway.
