The Celtics’ Big 3 captured their sixteenth championship with these ingredients. Kevin Garnett dominated the glass, Ray Allen couldn’t miss from three, and Paul Pierce, the ‘08 Finals MVP, did it all.
Pierce twisted his knee so bad in Game 1 of the Finals that he needed to be carted off with 6:49 remaining in the third quarter. He thought he heard a pop when he went down. But this is a man who survived being stabbed eleven times. One twisted knee wasn’t going to stop him from playing in the Finals. He returned just with 5:04 remaining in the third quarter.
